Field33 is a web directory published in the tradition of the trade almanac — a class of reference book that has served merchants, travellers, and the general public since the eighteenth century. Where the original trade almanac was a printed volume updated annually, Field33 is a living record, updated as new businesses register and are admitted to the directory.
The directory currently carries 831 listed sites across 22 trade sections. The sections follow the broad divisions of commerce: professional services such as legal offices and medical practitioners sit alongside consumer trades such as furnishings and provisions, and technology businesses appear beside the travel trade, just as they would in any complete commercial reference. No section is considered more important than another; each is a column in the almanac, maintained to the same standard.
Every entry in Field33 is registered by the proprietor of the business. The directory records what it is told: the domain address, the trading name, and a brief description of the goods or services offered. Field33 does not verify the claims made in listings, commission reviews, or publish editorial comment on individual businesses. The almanac role is to record and to list; judgement belongs to the reader.
Registration is open to any business with a legitimate web presence, at no charge. Submit your domain address, select the appropriate trade section, and provide a short description of your business. Entries are reviewed before publication; those that meet the directory basic standards of legibility and commercial purpose are added to the record.
Field33 is maintained by its editors as a general-purpose reference for the web, with no advertising and no sponsored placement. Every entry stands on equal footing in the almanac column, listed in the order it was received.
